Our relationship

You will be treated with respect, professionalism, and compassion. I assure the confidentiality of the information you share with me. For you to benefit from the counseling process, it is critical that our relationship be built on trust. I commit to treating you in ways that inspire and encourage that trust. My professional experience includes working with a variety of clients, issues, and situations. I point this out because many people approach counseling from a place of shame. It is important for you to know that I am not in practice to judge you or the information you share with me. Thus, I am not likely to be shocked by anything you tell me. I encourage you to offer full disclosure and honesty, so I can help you to the best of my ability. For further details about my practice (including my practice philosophy, rates, insurance, and procedural details), you can download a PDF of my Information for Clients booklet. Couples counseling

I am a certified IMAGO® therapist (for more information about the IMAGO approach, visit www.gettingtheloveyouwant.com), and I am one of the few certified gay IMAGO therapists in the area. I am happy to discuss more details about IMAGO Relationship Therapy via phone, or you can e-mail me with your questions.

Pet loss counseling

I am a passionate lover of animals (as my three dogs will attest) and deeply understand the loving bond created between us and our animal companions. It has been a privilege within my practice to help bereaved pet owners through their individual grieving and feelings of loss when coping with the loss (or anticipated loss) of a beloved companion.
